In the winter, classroom and the pool are utilized to complete confined water training. Open water training can be completed while on a Scuba North group trip, on vacation, or in the spring, once water warms up in the area.

Basic Scuba Diver
classes are taught over a minimum of 5 sessions to make training comprehensive and thorough, as well as to foster more enduring learning. During the extremely cold and "hard" water months, Pool Courses are offered. Pool Classes consist of the academic and confined water portions of the Open Water Certification Course. Options to complete the requirements for the Open Water Certification range from referrals to any worldwide NAUI shop or to any agency participating in the Universal Referral Program (SDI, SSI, YMCA) -- or, better yet, join one of the Scuba North trips and finish up in style! Classes are offered throughout the year in Traverse City and Charlevoix (Entry Level Scuba—Pool Course, local Naui Instructor: Murray Kilgour).

Basic Scuba 1 week summer classes meet each Monday through Friday &endash; 5 straight days. We don't go to the pool but use Long Lake for our Confined Water Training and finish in the Bay for the Open Water portion. Open Water Training (Completion of Pool Classes) is done over 2 days with 4 scuba dives and 1 skin dive.

Advanced Scuba Diver
classes consist of 6 dives/ 3 days to better hone skills that divers will find essential in gaining experience. These dives consist of Navigation, Deep and Night dives; the remaining 3 dives are elective and can range from Underwater Salvage, Search and Rescue, Photo, Video to WreckDiving.

Scuba Rescue Diver

Enriched Air Nitrox
is a one day class to educate the diver in the benefits of oxygen enriched air, the limits, hazards, and its safe use. Included is the student kit with workbook, charts, a certification folder, instructor's fee, and 2 nitrox dives.

Limited Safeair (Nitrox)- ANDI CSU
